Today I saw a little poster in the ladies compartment of my train. Awkwardly divided into many partitions, a man had his pictures taken in various kinds of clothing. A faded denim jacket, a checkered red shirt, bare-chested with a suave, seductive look on his face. Bad typography under all these pictures said, "Do you have many personalities? Consult Dr. ...."
While I stared at this poster, two women sitting in front of me were deep in conversation about their weddings. Each showed their husband/fiancee's photographs on their phones with a mix of curiosity and shyness glowing on their faces. They look old I thought to myself, old enough to marry atleast.
But then many women in the big city of Bombay do not settle down early. I have more 30 year old female friends than I could have imagined till last year.

To celebrate the approaching weekend, Iyer and I decided to go watch Inception on Friday. We were expecting something thrilling, something that would take us away from the mundane. But all the film did was faff seemingly cryptic nonsense about the subconscious and put me to sleep. I've never slept while watching a film in a theatre and I felt quite embarassed after fifteen minutes of that blessed nap.
I sleep very easily these days. All I need is my head to touch the pillow. Perhaps it's the rains. Bombay rains are very different from Guwahati rains

When I was little, a friend from school had come to visit me one day. I was excited to show her around the NID campus and so we didn't stay home for too long. I think I wanted to show off how big my home actually was...:) Of course it sounds naive and silly right now.
The institute felt different then. A long, broad, dark corridor with patches of summer light greeted you on the first floor. Looms set with colourful threads, a long table with fading prints
